gown. A bustle is a network of loops and hooks or strings that pull the train up in to the back of the gown. A bustle prevents people from stepping on your dress and helps to keep the hem cleaner throughout the day. It also allows you to move more freely to dance and mingle with your guests without dragging or carrying your train around.
